Where IPTV Iowa stands on copyright

IPTV Iowa carries streams sourced from third parties and does not produce the programming that passes through the service. Where a rights holder tells us something on our platform infringes their copyright, we act on it under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This page sets out how to tell us, what we need from you, and what happens next.

What a valid takedown notice must contain

A notice only obliges us to act if it contains the elements the statute requires. Send us something missing one of them and we will usually have to come back to you for it, which delays the takedown. The six items below are those requirements:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and where it is located on the IPTV Iowa service
• Your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or law
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf

Put DMCA Takedown Request in the subject line. It routes the message to the right place instead of the general support queue.

Disputing a removal

If we removed something of yours and you think we got it wrong, you can push back with a counter-notification. Doing so puts the dispute in front of a court rather than leaving it to us, so it needs the same care as the original notice:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district

Accounts that keep attracting notices

Accounts that attract repeated, substantiated infringement notices are suspended and then closed. We keep a record of notices received so that "repeat" means something specific rather than a judgement call.
